DNA or seed sample exchange
DNA specimens are exchanged world wide – in 2013 we have lend to:
- Université Paris-Sud (plants)
- Institut Jean-Pierre Bourgin, INRA Versailles (plants)
- Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle Paris (birds)
- Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (birds)
Security copies of ex situ conservation seed samples will from 2014 be deposited at Millennium Seed Bank in Wakehurst, UK. Our Botanical Garden participates in the international seed exchange programme for botanical gardens. By receiving seeds, the gardens commit themselves to use the material for research, educational purposes and public outreach only. Our Index Seminum contains seed sampled collected in natural habitats in Norway. Redlisted materials are not included in the list.
