L'une, Nebalia biarticulata, nouvelle pour la science, pourrait être considerée comme representative d'un nouveau genre. Nebalia bipes abyssicola Fage, 1929 est élevée au rang d'espèce. N. herbsti Leach, 1814 est signalée pour la première fois de Méditerranée mais avec un léger doute. N. strausi Risso, 1826 semble être Ie Leptostracé Ie plus commun en Méditerranée. Un spécimen se rapportant a Sarsinebalia typhlops a été capturé à faible profondeur (herbier de Posidonie, 12 m)
