New Records of the Genus Nebalia Leach, 1814 (phyllocarida, Leptostraca) from the Mediterranean Coast of Turkey, with a Checklist of the Mediterranean Species of Leptostraca

Sampling studies on the Turkish Mediterranean coast revealed the presence of two species of Leptostraca belonging to the genus Nebalia. These species were identified as N. strausi Risso, 1826 and N. kocatasi Moreira, Kocak & Katagan, 2007. The presence of the two species is reported for the first time from the region; these records therefore further extend the known distribution of these species from the Aegean Sea to the Turkish waters of the Mediterranean Sea. A checklist of all known leptostracans from the Mediterranean Sea is provided.
