The freshwater prawns of the genus Macrobrachium Bate, 1868 (Crustacea: Dcapoda: Palaemoniae) from Brunei Darussalam

The taxonomy of the Bruneian freshwater prawns of the genus Macrobrachium Bate, 1868 is treated. Material collected from throughout the country show that there are 11 species of Macrobrachium of which two [M. lopopodus and M. leucodactylus] are here described as new and seven [M. clymene (De Man, 1902), M. equidens (Dana, 1852), M. idae (Heller, 1862), M. javanicum (Heller, 1862), M. lanchesteri (De Man, 1911), M. lar (Fabricius, 1798) and M. scabriculum (Heller, 1862)] are new records for Brunei Darussalam. A key for the identification of the species is provided.
