The decapod crustaceans of Musselbrook Reserve and the Lawn Hill Gorge area
Musselbrook Reserve Scientific Study:93-96.
The creeks and waterholes of the Lawn Hill National Park were surveyed for decapod crustaceans during June 1995. Two additional sites were also investigated in the Lawn Hill Gorge area of Lawn Hill National Park. Musselbrook Reserve was found to be comparatively depauperate, with only two wide-ranging species found. An additional four species were recorded from Lawn Hill Creek and its tributary Louie Creek, of which the shrimp Caridina celebensis Holthuis proved to be a new record for Australia. These two sites are permanent, spring-fed systems in contrast to the largely ephemeral freshwater habitats in Musselbrook Reserve.
