Notes on some Indo-Pacific Pontoniinae, XLIX. Onycocaris balssi sp. nov., From Northern Australia, with the designation of O. fujinoi sp. nov.

Originally identified as Onycocaris quadratophthalma (Balss, 1921), a new species of the pontoniine shrimp genus Onycocaris Nobili, 1904, O. balssi, from the Northern Territory, Australia, is described and illustrated. A related taxon, from the Ryukyu Islands, is designated as O. fujinoi sp. nov. Problems over the identification of O. quadratophthalma are discussed and a key to related species is provided. D'abord identifiée comme Onycocaris quadratophthalma (Balss, 1921), une nouvelle espèce du genre de crevette Pontoniinae, Onycocaris Nobili, 1904, O. balssi, du Northern Territory, Australia, est décrite et illustrée. Un taxon voisin, provenant des îles Ryukyu, est désigné comme O. fujinoi sp. nov. Les problèmes d'identification de O. quadratophthalma sont discutés et une clé des espèces apparentées est fournie.
