A new species of the genus Glyptelasma Pilsbry (Cirripedia, Thoracica, Poecilasmatidae) from deep waters in the South China Sea

A new species of deep-water barnacle belonging to the family Poecilasmatidae is described from the South China Sea. Glyptelasma dentatum sp. nov. differs from its congeners in having an inwardly projecting tooth on either side of the internal median concavity of the basally expanded margins of the carina. Information on distribution and a key to the world’s species of Glyptelasma are provided.
