•The Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (RBINS) has held meteorites in its collections since the nineteenth century.
•The present collection consists of 511 specimens from 307 different meteorites.
•72 of these 307 are Sahara meteorites that are not yet officially described. They received a provisional name (NWA).
•Five Belgian meteorites are curated at the RBINS, four falls and one find. They are all ordinary chondrites.
