Faunal description of Namurian core, interval
(1460 - 1465 m)
The fissile dark grey silty shales contain a poor but
typical fossil assembly consisting of the mollusc
Posidonia, the goniatites Anthracoceras and
Reticuloceras (?) and fish scales. The state of pre-
servation no the number of specimens allow a deter-
mination of the species level.
In comparison with the completely cored Turnhout well
similar faunal assemblies were found in the interval
2080 and 2100 m (Namurian faunal level 7), tenta-
tively assigned to the Rl b (Kinderscoutian)
goniatite zone
